Financial Area
Located in downtown Toronto, Bay Street is the heart of Toronto, Canadas Financial District. It runs from Queens Quay in the south to Davenport Rd. in the north. Its name sprung up from the fact that it joins Queen Street West to a bay in Toronto Harbour. Due to the fact that many Torontonians worked in the downtown area, condos began to be developed in the year 1990 which would help cut down on the daily commute back and forth. The financial district is residence to several corporate headquarters, successful legal firms, insurance companies and stockholders that has in turn brought in many marketing and advertising agencies. Most of these areas are annexed by an array of underground runways known as PATH, which is the largest underground shopping center in the world. Some of its main attractions include, Air Canada Center, The Home of Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors, Design Exchange, and Panorama Lounge, (which is the world highest licensed patio).
