Yorkville Area
Yorkville is a very wealthy neighborhood located in Toronto, Canada, that was founded by Joseph Bloor in 1830. It has since been transformed from a quiet, residential town filled with Victorian style houses, to an upbeat bohemian-style suburb. Since the 1990s Yorkville has attracted wealthier residents as well as the eyes of many high-end fashion retailers including: Prada, Gucci, Herms, Louis Vuitton, and many more. Many bars, restaurants, art galleries, antique stores, and cafes scatter the streets of Yorkville as well. They are also know for their main Celebrity hotspot, Hazelton Lanes, which is the home to many exclusive designer stores such as: Juicy Couture, Hugo Boss, Manolo Blahnik, Salvatore Ferragamo, and lots more. Yorkville has been said to be the main birthplace for many of Canadas most important musical figures, to include Joni Mitchell and Neil Young. During that era, which was a time when Yorkville was known for its involvement in the hippie movement, Rochdale College at The University of Toronto was opened. Today Yorkville is known for its upscale shopping, restaurants, salons and five star hotels including Four Seasons Hotel Toronto and Park Hyatt Toronto.
