King Street West is a major commercial area in the downtown Toronto core. The name of the street came from King George the third, the British monarch at the time the street was built. It runs from The Queensway, from Queen Street West to the Don River. Along its entire length the street is served by the TTC (Toronto Transit Commissions) streetcar, one of the busiest lines in the fleet which an average of fifty thousand passengers per day. Popular attractions along King Street include Roy Thompson Hall, St. James’ Cathedral, Canada’s Walk of Fame, Princess Wales Theatre, Royal Alexandra Theatre, the Toronto Sun, and Le Meridian King Edward Hotel. There are also a vast amount of restaurant locales including Kit Kat Italian Bar & Grill, Verona Ristorante, San Korean Restaurant and Bar, Kubo Radio, Penelope Restaurant, Kaman Classical Indian Cuisine, Bandito’s Mexican Restaurant, and Tortilla Flats Restaurant.
