Little Italy or ‘Corso Italia’ is one among the most famous cultural streets in the downtown core of Toronto. During the great immigration period of people from Italy, Italian people began to make a name for themselves in Canada. Little Italy was made an official street in downtown Toronto on St. Clair Street. Little Italy is lined with an assortment of Italian shops, restaurants and cultural experiences. The Italian society here is very united, and this street became a part of the golden horse shoe that today is among one of the great cultural heritage streets of the downtown area of Toronto. Here you’ll find Italian shops such as the popular, Grace Textile. At the 2006 World Cup, Italy won beating Paris and the street here went wild with parties and celebration. It was a very spectacular event to witness, and brings much to the Italian community.
